Kindle Scout halfway mark

The Ancient Tripod of Peace has reached the halfway mark in its Kindle Scout listing.

Overall, I’m pleased with the results so far. The novel preview is spending close to half the time in the “hot and trending” category. Page views have lightened recently, but perhaps those who saved it for later have gone on to nominate it.

What’s most important about the process is that the preview is reaching readers. Without even trying, a regular web search for “ancient tripod” listed the kindle scout listing for the novel on the first page of Google search results, which I thought was extraordinary. Having over 5,000 page views of the preview does bode well for the eventual launch of the novel.

I’ve also learned a bit about the current promotion climate for novels during the process. That is good information to have going forward.

So, for other authors, I would support submitting to the kindle scout program. Of course, one wants to consider one’s own goals for the work in question.

Kindle scout campaign kicks off January 5, 2018

My new novel, “The Ancient tripod of Peace.” has been approved for a kindle scout campaign starting Friday, January 5, 2018. Kindle scout, in their own words, is “reader-powered publishing for new, never-before-published books. It’s a place where readers help decide if a book gets published.” Plus, if a reader selection is picked by kindle press for its imprint publishing, readers nominating the piece receive a free copy of the kindle ebook.

Revision Milestone

Recently completed a full edit revision of the upcoming novel. Work on “The Ancient Tripod of Peace” looks to be keeping on track for a January 2018 release of the novel. I’ve found fellow writers at scribophile.com to be helpful in that regard. The most recent information I have looks like the beta reading and response process may take one month longer than planned, so later in January is more likely than earlier.

 

First full draft completed

I completed the full draft of “The Ancient Tripod of Peace” (working title) back in May. I’m receiving critiques and editing the first volume currently

With a second novel in a series for that in very early development, plans are for that to be the first book of the Teen Thief-Catcher series. Have a fledgling facebook page for that series and young adult sleuthing books in general.

With eventual publishing plans, I am participating in a blog tour with other writers for the upcoming year starting in August.  While a bit early for the new novel, this one has young adult protagonists and so I’m getting better acquainted with both authors and readers in that genre.
